We are delighted to announce that Leopold Hotel Sheffield has been recognised as one of the hotels at the forefront of the drive to ensure female guests feel safe and secure when travelling alone.
Speaking at a recent event, CEO of Maiden Voyage Carolyn Pearson said “51% of female business travellers have reported feeling vulnerable whilst travelling alone so we knew there was a need for a trusted standard when it comes to guest safety. We have a strict inspection process which is based on hard criteria. We look at physical security elements as well as extra security matters like staff members not announcing room numbers out loud. We are already seeing this in hotels such as Leopold Hotel Sheffield where second door locks have been added to bedrooms.”
Maiden Voyage have also carried out research which has shown that 67% of female guests have said that they have felt at risk when travelling compared to just 19% of men. They also found that of key importance to female travellers was to be treated appropriately, not necessarily differently to male travellers. This is reflected in the discretion shown by our staff members towards lone female guests.
